Q + A

When should I RSVP by?

To help us with our planning, we kindly ask that you RSVP by March 31st, 2025. The Wild Rice Retreat does not typically do weddings so we want to give them time to prepare with the finalized numbers. If you do not RSVP, we will need to assume the response is no.

What is the dress code?

Elevated garden party attire or cocktail attire. We are encouraging others to wear bright colors or florals to celebrate summer and the longest day of the year. Dresses, dress shirts, and ties will do! See Pinterest board for ideas: https://pin.it/543FN1pG6 In the words of our dear friends: the goal is to look nice since we are only doing this once!

Can I bring my child or plus one?

Our guest list is limited due to the small size of the venue. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate additional guests outside of the predetermined individuals allocated via your wedding invitation. Your invitation will specify if a plus one or your child is also invited. HOWEVER, you are more than welcome to stay offsite and bring your family with to enjoy Bayfield for the weekend. We just ask that they do not join on Saturday night for the ceremony or reception.

What should I pack?

If staying onsite, be sure to pack some athletic/yoga attire as well as a swimming suit or loose fitting clothes for the sauna if you are interested. We would also recommend bringing a lawn chair for sitting outside. We are not sure what the weather will be like, so plan accordingly for sun protection and/or rain Last but not least, please bring your dancing shoes!

Transportation

We are not providing transportation to and from other hotels, motels, B&Bs since a large portion of people will be staying onsite. All other recommended accommodations are within a few miles.

What is Midsommer?

Midsommer is the Swedish holiday that takes place on June 21st. It is the celebration of summer solstice, the longest day of the year. It is celebrated with garden parties, dancing, flower crowns and games. We are going to try and tie some of the traditions into the weekend.
